Celebrities Who Refused To Take COVID-19 Vaccine

Though Biden Administration has opted for famous celebrities and sports personalities to convince and persuade Americans to take the COVID-19 vaccine, many of them haven’t gotten vaccinated themselves. That’s not because they didn’t get the chance yet or are waiting for their turn- they just don’t want to get vaccinated!

In America, whether or not to get vaccinated became a topic of hot debate much before the discovery of coronavirus vaccines. So, where a vast majority of American population is relying on the jab in a bid to put this pandemic to rest, those against the vaccines are in no mood to change their minds even though they are fully aware of the risks and consequences. This vaccine hesitancy is the topic of today’s article. In the USA, this has become a burning issue of late because the country has almost 180 million fully vaccinates individuals, which is around the same number as in India. However, what’s worth noting is that where 386 million Indians are awaiting their turn to get vaccinated, the situation is different in America as just 30 million are waiting for their jab. Some of the notable anti-vaxxers are listed here

Aaron Rogers

The Green Bay Packers quarterback tested positive for COVID-19 but the sports star is still adamant on not getting vaccinated. He refers to the vaccine-related campaigns and the Biden administration’s never-ending pleas to persuade people get vaccinated as a witch hunt. Aaron Rogers claims that he did research on his own and identified that Moderna and Pfizer vaccines contain an ingredient he’s allergic to, which is why he believe alternative treatment would be best for his body. The Green Bay Packers was fined by the NFL for violating COVID-regulation in the amount of $300,000 and personally $14,650.

“I hope we can take a step back, quit lying, stop with the witch hunt and canceling. This is a conversation to be had, not a controversy, and move this forward with love and connection, that’s what we need in this world.” “I realize I’m in the crosshairs of the woke mob right now, so before the final nail gets put in my cancel culture casket, I’d like to set the record straight on some of the blatant lies that are out there about me now.”

Aaron Rogers

Nicki Minaj

The Trinidadian-native singer & songwriter Nicki Minaj is another celeb who refuses to get the jab. She has been too public about her detest for the vaccine and didn’t even attend the Met Gala 2021 because only vaccinated celebs could attend it. Minaj posted on Twitter that she missed the event but still made the choice and didn’t get the jab even though she herself had tested positive for the virus. The Super Bass singer revealed that she know someone who turned impotent after getting the vaccine and his wedding was cancelled.

“They want you to get vaccinated for the Met. If I get vaccinated it won’t [be] for the Met. It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now. In the meantime my loves, be safe. Wear the mask with 2 strings that grips your head & face. Not that loose one.”

“My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent. His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied.”

Nicki Minaj

Rob Schneider

The Deuce Bigalow star has been pretty vocal about his dissatisfaction over the vaccine-related persuasive campaigns. He regularly posts statements on Twitter with anti-vaccine memes. Rob Schneiger seems to be refusing the vaccine and posting misinformation about it. He calls it an “experimental gene therapy” and even revealed that the vaccine could be a cause of promoting autism. The Grown Ups actor said in an interview with News10 that the doctors will never tell the side effects of the vaccine, which is what scares him the most.

“The doctors are not gonna tell you both sides of the issue … they’re told by the pharmaceutical industry, which makes billions of dollars, that it’s completely safe. “The toxicity of these things – we’re having more and more side effects. We’re having more and more autism.”

Rob Schneider

Alicia Silverstone

The Clueless star Alicia Silverstone has also jumped on the anti-vaccine bandwagon. Silverstone has consistently shared her doubts over the vaccine campaigns and pointed out that in the absence of a conclusive study or analysis, it is hard for her to get convinced to take the jab. In her book titled The Kind Mama: A Simple Guide to Supercharged Fertility, a Radiant Pregnancy, a Sweeter Birth, and a Healthier, More Beautiful Beginning, Silverstone wrote that she felt doubtful about vaccines in general.

“There has not been a conclusive study of the negative effects of such a rigorous one-size-fits-all, shoot-’em-up schedule,” she wrote in her book on motherhood.

Jenny McCarthy

Celebrity activist and author Jenny McCarthy, better known as the judge on ‘The Masked Singer,’ has been quite open about vaccines in general for over a decade and she is particularly wary of the COVID-19 vaccine. McCarthy claims that due to the jabs, her son got autism, therefore, she believes the vaccines pose more harm than good. The ex-Playboy model has published several books on this topic as well. Moreover, she presides the non-profit organization, Generation Rescue, which is believed to be an anti-vac collective. In her book, Louder Than Words, McCarthy described her son Evan’s seizure episodes that starts soon after getting the MMR jab. In an interview with Frontline in 2015 she said that it was a compilation of different shots that caused her son to get epilepsy.

“You know, a lot of people think, and probably from me saying in some interviews, that it was after the MMR I noticed changes. I don’t think it was just the MMR shot that caused any kind of trigger with autism. I think it was a compilation of so many shots to a kid that obviously had some autoimmune disorders. So I would say maybe a couple of months, a month or so after the MMR, I started to notice some physical ailments such as constipation, rashes, eczema. That was like the first little sign. And then the train just kind of descended from there.”

Jenny McCarthy

Robert De Niro

The star actor better known for the ‘Godfather’ franchise has recently informed people about vaccine safety and has been a vocal anti-vaxxer lately. In fact, he joined RFK Jr. in 2017 when the former held a press conference on this topic and even promoted an anti-vaccine documentary titled Vaxxed in 2016. The focal point of the 2017 press conference was the possible link between autism and vaccines, especially with the presence of mercury in the jabs. On the Today show, De Niro openly defended the documentary and expressed resentment over the movie’s elimination from the Tribeca film festival.

“There’s a lot of information about things that are happening with the CDC, the pharmaceutical companies, there’s a lot of things that are not said. I, as a parent of a child who has autism, I’m concerned. And I want to know the truth. I’m not anti-vaccine. I want safe vaccines.”

Robert De Niro

Offset

It is clear that  Offset doesn’t want to get COVID-19 vaccine and we aren’t sure whether Cardi B approves of this or not. The rapper made it clear in an interview with TMZ where he openly expressed his doubts over the vaccine and claimed that he didn’t trust whatever was being said about the effectiveness of the vaccine. Calling the vaccinated individuals as test dummies, the Migos star stated that many COVID-19 volunteers got Bell’s Palsy after getting Pfizer vaccine.

“I don’t trust it…I just don’t wanna be the test dummy,” he announced in December 2020 when TMZ asked the rapper if he intends to get vaccinated. When he appeared on The Breakfast Club radio show, the rapper said: “I’m not tryna be a lab rat, man,” despite that the FDA has endorsed the vaccine.

Doutzen Kroes

Model Doutzen Kroes is another one of the more vocal and expressive celebs out there who don’t want to get vaccinated thinking that it may affect their health and wellbeing. She shared on Instagram that no one can force her to get the shot as she was against excluding people based on their health status.

“I will not be forced to take the shot. I will not be forced to prove my health to participate in society. I will not accept exclusion of people based on their medical status.”

“Freedom of speech is a right worth fighting for but we can only solve this united in peace and love!” Kroes added. A week later, Kroes reinstated her stance regarding COVID-19 vaccine.

“I have told you my point of view. It was scary because it’s not a popular opinion to have. It’s even frowned upon and ridiculed. Some call it dangerous some call it brave. Whatever you call it it comes from a place of knowing that protecting my right to decide what I put into my body is sacred and needs to be protected.”

“I shared my opinion because I hope to reach people to tell them they are not alone. I think the feel alone because it’s so freaking hard to not be liked for many of us,. To hear one sided information in the media and feel like you’re doing the wrong thing while protecting yours and everyone’s right. I don’t ridicule anyone’s opinion because I respect it and all I’m saying is please also respect mine. Unity in unconditional respect is what is so needed!”

“If this system is not welcoming me anymore because I choose to listen to my gut feeling and to listen to the other narrative and scientists that are being censored. What is the next step, being pushed out or taking the step myself?” she concluded. “I want alternatives and I’m going to look for them. I’m done convince anyone, this is not my place but at least now you know where I stand. I want to live my life in sovereignty but don’t know how and I’m sure many of you feel the same. I love you all.”

Summer Walker

Summer has a reputation of making controversial statements and coming up with weird theories. she often expresses her opinions on her social media pages. But the most shocking statement Walker made recently was regarding the COVID-19 vaccine and those who had received the shot and reposted the same message across all social networking platforms.

“Stay the f**k away from people who were vaccinated,” Walker said. “People are reporting: bleeding, bruising, spontaneous periods and miscarriages from being in close proximately to a recently vaccinated person.”

Elon Musk

Elon Musk has repeatedly questioned the legitimacy, authenticity, and validity of COVID-19 vaccine testing. Musk also had expressed doubts over the vaccine much before he himself contracted the virus back in Nov 2020. In September, Musk told the New York Times that he wouldn’t take the vaccine because he believed he and his kids aren’t at a risk of contracting the virus anymore. However, his stance has since changed as in one of his recent tweets, Musk noted that he isn’t against the vaccine and the risks it poses are also not as lethal as he once believed.

“I’m not at risk for COVID, nor are my kids.”

“To be clear, I do support vaccines in general & covid vaccines specifically. The science is unequivocal. In very rare cases, there is an allergic reaction, but this is easily addressed with an EpiPen.”

Elon Musk

Olivia Newton-John

Olivia Newton-John took the world by surprise by announcing that she won’t get the COVID-19 jab. The Grease star has been fighting stage 4 cancer and didn’t want to get into more trouble given the confusions surrounding the vaccine. Olivia told The Herald Sun that she wasn’t an anti-vaccine advocate nor did she had anything against the government, she just didn’t feel ready for it at the moment.

“Not at this point, no. I’m not an anti-vaxxer, I’m anti putting mercury and pesticides in my body, which are in a lot of vaccines.”

“To me, real medicine is what comes from the earth. I think people trust vaccines because the doctor says it is safe, I used to.”

Olivia Newton-John

Anwar Hadid

Model Anwar Hadid suffers from autoimmune disorder, which puts him at a higher risk of contracting coronavirus. Still, Hadid has refused to get the COVID-19 jab. We believe the disorder runs in the Hadid family as not only the 21-year-old Anwar Hadid, his mother Yolanda Hadid and elder sister Bella Hadid both suffer from Lyme disease. The young model revealed in a candid Q&A session on his Instagram channel that he is an anti-vaxxer.

“Our bodies are made by the creator to do way more than we think,” Hadid noted.

Letitia Wright

Letitia Wright have shown her disapproval of COVID-19 vaccine time and again through her tweets. Once she uploaded an anti-vaccination video at a time when the coronavirus vaccines had started rolling out in the UK. In the video she posted on Twitter, a person can be heard saying that they feel skeptical of the vaccine. Wright received severe backlash for creating doubts and spreading misinformation through that now delete video that contained transphobic content.

“I don’t understand vaccines medically, but I have always been a little bit of a sceptic of them,” the person in the video can be heard saying.

The “Black Panther” star was later confronted by pro-vaccine individuals asking her to shed some light on her stance to which she responded that she was just “concerned about what’s in it that’s all.”

Jim Carrey

‘The Mask’ star was supposedly the least likely of all individuals to speak against vaccines but it is indeed true that Jim Carrey is unhappy about the recent turn of events. For five years, Carrey dated Jenny McCarthy and split up in 2010. The actor has repeatedly criticized the vaccine and his opinions on the entire scenario post-COVID-19. In 2009, Carrey had told the Huffington Post that vaccinations generally are a mere agenda by the CDC.

“In this growing crisis, we cannot afford to blindly trumpet the agenda of the CDC, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) or vaccine makers. Now more than ever, we must resist the urge to close this book before it’s been written.” Years later, Carrey he had to post an explanation that read: “I am not anti-vaccine. I am anti-thimerosal, anti-mercury. They have taken some of the mercury laden thimerosal out of vaccines. NOT ALL! (sic)”

Candace Owens

Candace Owens is among the few Republican anti-vaxxers who refuse to get the COVID-19 shot. However, in Owens’ case, this decision isn’t so surprising because she is known for making controversial statements. In one of her most absurd previous statements, Owens claimed that the pandemic is not a real crisis at all. She continuously posts about why she believes the vaccine is nothing else but a mere conspiracy.

“I have no interest in getting the Covid-19 vaccine and celebrities video-taping themselves getting the injection isn’t moving the needle any. Big Tech is colluding to create a peer pressure campaign for vaccinations”

Kirstie Alley

Kirstie Alley is one of the celebrities who contracted COVID-19 and still chose to stay unvaccinated. Alley stated that she fully believes in freedom of speech and freedom to live. That’s why she decided not to get the coronavirus shot. Moreover, Alley has frequently spoken against the vaccine passports and questioned people who chose to get the jab regarding if they felt any adverse health consequences. She has made it clear time and again that she’s against forced vaccinations.

“YOU get a vaccine if YOU want one…don’t ever ever agree to FORCED vaccinations. Remember? IT’s YOUR BODY. Right LADIES?”

“I just got over Covid. No I’m not vaccinated because I have antibodies as I just got over Covid 3 weeks ago.”

Kirstie Alley

Noel Gallagher

Noel Gallagher is yet another star who has reservations regarding the COVID vaccine. According to Gallagher, he is against getting the COVID shot because he feels wary about the vaccine. He states that he has no qualms about the SOPs and is always keen on washing his hands or maintaining social distancing. But, apart from that, he isn’t willing to go the extra mile.

Noel Gallagher says he feels “very, very wary of taking a vaccine. I don’t even take tablets,” however, he do get “the washing of the hands and the social distancing and all that.” The ex-member of Oasis revealed that he doesn’t like to adhere to societal norms and rules and is sure that he isn’t a carrier of the virus as he has gotten tested multiple times.

“I was shocked, actually,” he said. “I’ve carried on my life as normal and I was convinced that I would have it. I’ve never had it.”

Wendy Williams

Wendy Williams is of the opinion that she is already in good health and doesn’t really need the jab. However, she was also among those celebs who raised concerns regarding the authenticity of COVID vaccine after she collapsed while onboard an airplane. In an interview with Dr. Mehmet Oz when she appeared on The Dr. Oz Show, the quirky host stated that she doesn’t trust the governments’ stance regarding the vaccine and would not get the shot.

“I’ve never gotten flu shot either, though.” “No, I don’t trust it. There I said it,” Wendy Williams, 56, reiterated.

Ted Nugent

Ted Nugent hasn’t learned the lesson every after contracting coronavirus recently. The conservative rock star tested positive for COVID-19 in April. Before being diagnosed, Nugent has had a stern stance regarding the virus. Apart from downplaying the severity of the pandemic, he deterred people from taking the jab as he wasn’t himself sure about it. In a video he uploaded on Christmas day in 2020, he said that the pandemic was not a real issue.

“It’s not a real pandemic and that’s not a real vaccine. I’m sorry, I ain’t taking no vaccine. Nobody knows what’s in it.”

M.I.A.

Famous rapper MIA posted some very controversial statements on Twitter in 2010. In her numerous posts, she made it clear that she was against taking the COVID-19 shot.  Her anti-vaccine statements irked many and she was widely criticized. She went as far as to claim that if she had to choose between the vaccine and death, she would choose the latter. When one of her followers called her out for her anti-vaccine comments, the rapper explained that it was due to her previous bad experiences following vaccines when she was young.

“If I have to choose the vaccine or chip I’m gonna choose death.”

“Yeah in America they made me [vaccinate] my child before the school admission. It was the hardest thing. To not have choice over this as a mother. I never wanna feel that again. He was so sick for 3 weeks then Docs had to pump him with antibiotics to reduce the fever from 3 vaxins,” the rapper responded.

Kat Von D

The worldwide famous tattoo artist also came forth with her stance over the vaccine, making it clear that she wasn’t in favor of it. In 2018 the popular tattoo artist posted on, after having her first child, that she turned to all-natural methods throughout her pregnancy and even during childbirth she went for a drug-free, home birth. so, in her opinion, it was only fair to be allowed to make the choices for herself and not be forced to follow everyone else’s footsteps.

“Try being an openly pregnant vegan on Instagram, having a natural, drug-free home birth in water with a midwife and doula, who has the intention of raising a vegan child, without vaccinations.”

“I am not an anti-vaxxer. What I am is a first-time mother. I am one of those moms that reads everything. Anything that is going in my baby or on my baby, I research like a complete and total nerd. After doing a bunch of research and reading the ingredients, naturally I experienced some hesitancy.”

Floyd Mayweather

Renowned boxer Floyd Mayweather is one of the first athletes to refuse getting vaccinated or even trusting the vaccine as the best preventive measure to deal with the pandemic. Mayweather went as far to appeal for individual freedom and hasn’t yet revealed whether he got the jab or not. According to Mayweather, it should be a matter of personal choice and will to get vaccinated instead of an obligation.

“Choice is defined as an act of selecting or making a decision when faced with two or more possibilities. America gave us the choice to take the vaccine or not take the vaccine. As time moves on, that choice is gradually being stripped from us,” the boxer wrote in one of his recent tweets.

Chet Hanks

Chet, who’s the son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, has declared that he won’t be getting the vaccine. This decision comes despite that his parents are two of the first few celebs who contracted the virus. However, Chet Hanks seems adamant on his views and shared his stance over the COVID-19 vaccine in an Instagram video.

“Sike, b**ch! If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. I ain’t never had COVID. You ain’t stickin’ me with that motherf—-in’ needle. It’s the motherf—-in’ flu. Get over it, okay? If you’re sick, stay inside. Why we working around y’all? If you’re in danger, stay your ass inside. I’m tired of wearing a motherf—-in’ mask,” Chet revealed.

Samaire Armstrong

The O.C. star and fashion designer Samaire Armstrong also harbors anti-vaccination sentiments and has been pretty sure about the vaccine not suitable for humans. She has called it an “untested shot” and believes that it is made by criminals. However, despite that she resents COVID-19 vaccine wholeheartedly, she hasn’t yet made her stance clear about getting vaccinated. She did mention in one of her recent tweets that it confuses her why a healthy individual would want to get injected with an untested shot to protect themselves from a flu variant that’s not life-threatening.

“I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again; I will never understand a healthy person with zero likelihood of severe illness from a flu variant that has a 99.9% survival rate, inject themself with an untested shot made by criminals, because a stranger is urging them to,” Samaire stated.

Charlamagne tha God

Charlamagne tha God is a renowned radio personality. He has repeatedly shared on his show that he is not ready to get the jab and still remains unvaccinated. However, it is worth noting that Charlamagne doesn’t like anyone to call himself an anti-vaxxer. He is only wary of getting the jab. In his tweet from June 2021, Charlamagne cleared the air surrounding his stance on the COVID-19 vaccine that he is hesitant and not a disapprover.

“I’m not an anti-vaxxer. I’m just hesitant because I’ve never seen them in a rush to remedy any other issue in the Black community whether it’s poverty, police brutality or f**cked up schools.”

Now that we are discussing celebs who have refused to get vaccinated, it seems fair to check out those high-profile athletes who have openly opposed the government’s vaccination policies and have given their own reasons to not getting vaccinated.

Novak Djokovic

The Serbian superstar of the tennis world is also among the athletes who have expressed his uneasiness regarding the coronavirus vaccine. Djokovic is of the opinion that people should not be labeled according to their decision of getting the jab or choosing otherwise because it is also a form of discrimination.

“There is a lot of division in society, not only in sports, but in the whole of society, between those who have not been vaccinated and have been vaccinated,” the tennis legend stated a few weeks ago.

“And that’s really scary. That we fell for discriminating against someone if he wants to decide for himself one way or another, whether he wants to be vaccinated or not.”

Kyrie Irving

The point guard for Brooklyn Nets sparked an unnecessary controversy recently after he expressed his disapproval for getting the COVID-19 jab. He was in fact barred from playing for his team in the recent NBA season and asked to get the jab if he intended to play.

There are several other NBA starts such as Michael Porter Jr. and Bradley Beal, who are not ready to get the COVID-19 jab. However, none of them have yet revealed if they are vaccinated or not.

Dominic Thiem and Stefanos Tsitsipas

A survey revealed that only 50% of tennis players have gotten vaccinated so far. Dominic Thiem and Stefanos Tsitsipas are clearly not one of them. In fact, Thiem was reportedly disqualified from attending the Vienna Open just because he wasn’t vaccinated.

On the other hand, Greek tennis star Tsitsipas has since changed his mind post the US Open where he made it clear that he doesn’t want to get the jab or be forced to get it. Tsitsipas, however, revealed it recently that he has decided to get vaccinated in December 2021.

Joshua Kimmich

Joshua Kimmich is the midfielder for Bayern Munich. The star athlete recently admitted to not receiving the COVID vaccine. Kimmich claims that he won’t get the jab until and unless he finds out whether the vaccine is safe for him and doesn’t come with grave side effects.

The situation isn’t any different for soccer stars. Just like tennis stars are refusing to get the COVID shot, footballers are also not showing any eagerness towards it. Reportedly, more than 10% of players in Italy aren’t yet vaccinated. A similar situation is noted in England as even famous players like Callum Robinson and West Bromwich Albion, both of whim contracted the virus twice, haven’t yet agreed to take the COVID-19 vaccine shot. Let’s check out some famous soccer stars who haven’t yet gotten vaccinated.

Bryson DeChambeau

It is true that in the NBA and the NFL the number of fully vaccinated players is comparatively high with over 90% of people choosing to get the jab. Reportedly, the NFL aims to get 93% of players vaccinated in the near future. And surprisingly golf players are not as keen on getting the jab. So far, around 75% of the professional golfers have received the jab but some of them are still refusing to get the shot and Bryson DeChambeau is one of them. The pro golfer recently said that he doesn’t need the jab as he considers himself perfectly healthy individual.

“[I] don’t need it. I’m a healthy, young individual that will continue to work on my health.”
