Celebrities Who Are Happily Married for 15+ Years

We cannot deny the fact that in Hollywood, marriages and relationships don’t last too long. The traditional concept of celebrity relationships seems to be a novelty now. Given the fast-tracked nature of life nowadays, relationships have also become so. But some couples stood the test of time and made us believe in the ’till death do us apart’ vow. Let’s admit that in Hollywood or the entertainment industry in general, some affairs are turned into a knot, and the couple ends up getting married, and some affairs don’t. There’s nothing wrong with that. But the problem is that now there are too many divorces occurring in Hollywood where some celebrity couples decided to part ways after staying together for decades. And this trend isn’t only noticed among celebrities.

Well-known personalities like Bill Gates also filed for divorce after being married for 27 years… and now shocking information that the media has looked the other way has surfaced. Who knew Bill was a frequent flier on Epstein’s Lolita Express? Who knew Bill was a regular at the local stripe clubs? Who knew Bill would often times bring those strippers home for a pool party and run around bare-arse naked? We digress… Anyways, that was a “shocker” for everyone worldwide. That’s why we believe it is the right time to celebrate the institution of marriage and restore our faith in it by honoring those celebs who are a living example of how to make a relationship work. They are role models for all couples as they reached their happily ever after with patience, perseverance, and passion. Here is twenty-five of the most inspiring couples in Hollywood who are still going strong. Who knows, we also get to pick up some secrets of keeping a relationship thriving and long-lasting.

Julia Roberts & Danny Moder: 18 Years +

Isn’t it quite surprising that an actor of the caliber of Julia Roberts has stayed in a stable relationship for over 15 years? She was one of the most loved and adored actresses. Her movies like Pretty Woman and Notting Hill were blockbusters. Still, she decided to marry Danny Moder. He was the cameraman of Julia’s movies and was married already when the two first met. However, as fate would have it, everything fell into place, and they ended up marrying each other. Now it has been 18 years, and they still feel the same love and passion as the first year of their marriage.

They celebrated their wedding anniversary on July 4th, 2020, and the Oscar winner posted a heartfelt tribute to her spouse with a sweet selfie. In the photo she posted on her Instagram, the diva is standing next to Moder wearing a striped tee and sunglasses and kissing her husband on his cheek. This photo was captioned: “18 years. #heckyes,” followed by star emojis. The Homecoming starlet is although quite secretive about her private life. However, in 2019, she did a candid interview with Gywneth Paltrow on Goop podcast where she praised Moder a lot. “I think that first kind of real ‘seismic shift’ was meeting Danny, getting married to Danny. That was the first like, my life will never be the same in the most incredible, indescribable way,” the mother of three told Gywneth.

Viola Davis & Julius Tennon: 17 Years +

Viola had given up on marriage and love before she met Julius Tennon. As they say, you will just know it when The One walks into your life. Davis also had no idea if she will have that moment. Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom star was waiting for it to happen and even prayed to God as she felt lonely and gloomy. The Oscar nominee told Page Six in 2013 that she started praying after someone told her that this is the way to meet her soulmate.”I was the loneliest woman in the world, and someone said, ‘You should just pray for a husband,’ [she] wanted a big Black man from the South who looked like a football player, who already had children, who maybe had been married before,” the actress said.

Her prayers were answered as Tennon met her within a month and was precisely the kind of person Viola was searching for. The Austin, Texas native was an outstanding footballer, had earned a full scholarship for playing at the University of Tulsa, and became the first black graduate from the school’s theatre department. Interestingly, Julius overheard Viola saying that she didn’t know many people in LA and introduced himself to her. They started dating and tied the knot in 2003. The couple adopted a daughter, Genesis, in 2011.

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Junior: 20 Years +

Gellar and Prinze Jr. have been together for nearly 20 years. They met in 1997 on the sets of the teen horror flick I Know What You Did Last Summer. But they started dating after 2000. News, Freddie said that they remained friends for two years before their first date.  “We were friends for two years before we ever went out on a date. She knew what kind of guy I was, what my morals were, what my priorities were, and vice versa. We already knew all the faults about the other person.”

Another interesting detail about their relationship is that their first date happened accidentally. “We were supposed to have dinner with a friend of ours, and she didn’t make her plane, so we went anyway. We’d had tons of dinners before, and for some reason, it felt different that night. Organically, it just transitioned into something else.” By April 2001, both had gotten engaged and exchanged their vows in 2002 in Mexico. They are proud parents to a daughter and a son. Streisand and Brolin have been together for over two decades, but they were married to different individuals before finding true love. Their love story is too sweet, like something straight out of a typical Hollywood rom-com. Barbara was married to Eliot Gould. They got married in 1963 and parted ways in 1971. Barbara has a son from this marriage, Jason.

On the other hand, James had married twice before meeting Barbara. His first wife was Jane Cameron Agee. The couple had two children, Jess and Josh, who’s a famous actor too. Later, James married for the second time to Jan Smithers and they had a daughter named Molly. Barbara was happily single when she met James. She spoke to People about her life as a single mother and said she liked not being in despair. “Without being in despair, I was finally liking my solitude, I met him at a dinner and expected a bearded mountain-man type, and he had cut off all his hair and was clean-shaven,” Streisand said.

Felicity Huffman & William H. Macy: 23 Years +

Felicity Huffman didn’t want to get into a relationship before meeting William Macy because she had seen her parents fight and part ways when she was a little child. You may not believe it that they dated for a good fifteen years before she finally gathered the courage to give marriage a chance and took William’s proposal seriously. In 2015, she gave an interview to Tribune News in which she stated that she used to think that standing in front of a bus was a better idea than getting married. “I was so scared of marriage that I thought I would’ve preferred to step in front of a bus,” Felicity said. The 56-year-old actress met her future husband, Macy, 68, in the early 80s. They met at Atlantic Theater Company in NYC, and Felicity fell for Macy right there and then.

Judd was a filmmaker, while Leslie was an actress. The two met while shooting for the 1996 movie The Cable Guy. In the movie, Leslie starred against actor Jim Carrey while Judd was producing the movie. He later told Vanity Fair that when Leslie completed her audition, he said to himself, “I can’t believe Mrs. Apatow just walked into the room.”

On the other hand, Leslie Mann wasn’t as impressed by Judd Apatow because she had a crush on Stiller. However, after Judd convinced her to go out with him, she started taking an interest in him. Their first date was quite interesting as they watched a basketball game, had dinner and saw a movie all in one night. When Mann appeared on Live with Kelly and Michael, she recalled how Judd tried to impress her on their first date as he had made delicious food for her. “He made me spaghetti with Ragu sauce, and Wonder Bread with Fleischmann’s margarine, and then some other delicious food I can’t remember,” Mann quipped. After meeting in 1990, they remained friends for several years and started dating each other in 1994. They officially tied the knot in 1997. In October 2020, they celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary.

Someone who’s in it to fight, in it to win with you and who supports you. And on top of it, they’re really a nice person.” The Oscar nominee explained to People in 2018 how kind her husband was. While they were planning their wedding in 1997, she remembered that Vance managed everything so well despite being busy with his movie How Stella Got Her Groove Back’s shooting.

The fashion/singer/entrepreneur Victoria and the soccer legend David Beckham decided to tie the knot just two years after dating each other. After 20+ years of anniversaries and four children, the couple is still very much in love, and their fans are delighted by their never-ending declarations of affection. Perhaps their separation rumors were the hopes of those who wanted to cause havoc in their blissful lives.

Just weeks after the Beckhams attended Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding, rumors were ripe that they would announce their divorce. But the couple put all these rumors to rest by clearing the air through their representatives. Mrs. Beckham herself told British Vogue that people have been “making things up about their relationship for 20 years.” The iconic ex-Spice Girl member was posing for the magazine’s October issue with her entire, extremely photogenic clan, which includes Brooklyn, 22, Romeo, 18, Cruz, 16, and 9-year-old daughter Harper. Chili lipstick (her trademark),” Rodger Berman said. “She was the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen,” he added.

They share two beautiful kids now. Regarding what works for them to keep their relationship going, Zoe said they both acknowledge the importance of having their separate lives and preventing being co-dependent. This is a difficult task, but they try to do it daily. “The idea is that you’re dependent, but you’re independent; there’s the life you share, and there’s the life that’s yours,” Zoe explains.”That really takes the pressure off of the other, because if you’re solely dependent on the other for your happiness and your purpose, that can’t really work,” she added. Recently the coupled launched a new podcast co-produced by iHeart Media and Cloud10. It is titled Work For Us. In this podcast, they divulged the secrets to their lasting marital relationship. McGraw proposed to her, and the two love birds found their happily ever after

Steve Carell & Nancy Carell – 24 Years +

Steve Carell is regarded as the late bloomer in the comedy world. But when it comes to marriage, no one can argue that he is blessed to have the strongest marital relationship with his wife, Nancy. They met in an improv class that Steve was holding at the Second City comedy troupe in Chicago. Their first meeting was somewhat awkward as he didn’t know what to talk about. Nancy was working at a bar across the street and taking comedy classes as well. After they met, Steve made it a habit to stop by the bar every day just to see her.

When asked what made their marriage work for a good 24 years, Steve and Nancy said they both have a great sense of humor and have a background in TV comedy. Perhaps their common interests are responsible for helping them stay firm even after two decades. Steve said that Nancy told him something wonderful that made him fall for her. She said to Steve, “If somebody like you were to ask me out, I would definitely go out with him. If there was a person like you.”They joked a lot, said Steve when he appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2015, but none of them was bold enough to make the first move. For weeks they kept hinting on asking each other out but never directly asked the other. “This went on for weeks. Other people at the bar must have been like, ‘Just do it! Put us all out of our misery.’ And finally, we did. It was great,” Steve told Ellen. For the record, Steve made the first move.

Michelle Pfeiffer & David E. Kelley – 26 Years +

Michelle and David met in a rather filmy way. They met in 1993 on a blind date and went bowling. You can consider their love story as a typical romance where they get married just ten months later. With so many marriages in Hollywood that start and end with the blink of an eye, it is surprising that Pfeiffer and Kelley are still enjoying marital bliss. After a whirlwind romance, the couple managed to stay together for over 26 years. In an interview with The New Yorker, she admitted that she never felt the urge to team up with Kelley simply because she has seen couples parting ways after working together, and she didn’t want this to happen to her blissful marriage. “I’ve seen a lot of couples where they seem to have a really great marriage, and then they work together, and next year they’re filing for divorce,” the 62-year old actress shared.

In November 2020, the French Exit star celebrated their 27th anniversary with her 64-year-old spouse and paid a heartfelt tribute to him on Instagram. The post read: “My one and only for 27 years. 🙏 Happy Anniversary to my love 😍,” Michelle captioned the post.  The couple share an adopted daughter, 28-year-old Claudia, and a 26-year-old son John. The actress revealed that she initiated the adoption process for Claudia while they were courting.

Annette Bening & Warren Beatty – 28 Years +

Annette and Warren met in 1990 and have been married for over 28 years. There’s an exciting story about how they met. Back in 1990, Warren was looking for the leading lady of his mafia movie Bugsy. Annette came to audition for the role, and that’s when Warren fell for her. She got the role, and Warren found his lady love. He asked her out during the movie’s filming, and the two felt the spark between them on their first date. However, they stayed friends until the shooting was over. Then Warren invited her to dinner. Despite having some doubts, Annette decided to go with him. And the industry got the most authentic real-life example of Unbreakable Love from that moment on.

They have been together for over two decades. So, what could be the secret formula of making a marriage work in Hollywood? When the couple was asked about it, they replied that there could not be a secret to a happy marriage as what works for one may not work for another couple. While speaking with US Weekly at Arthur Miller’s All My Sons Broadway opening night, the 60 years old actress said: “There is no secret as anyone who’s been married knows. We have an incredible family, we have beautiful children. We’ve been through a lot. It’s the center of life. It’s the most important thing. It’s everything.” And for the 82 years old Warren Beatty, his wife is that unique factor. The Bonnie and Clyde start revealed that it took him just 7 to 8 seconds to realize that she was The One when she came in for the audition.

Michael J. Fox & Tracy Pollan – 32 Years +

Sometimes Hollywood breaks people apart, but there are also times when it brings people together. Michael and Tracy are living proof of that. They first met when shooting for Family Ties. They were playing the roles of Allen and Ellen. Despite having several kissing scenes together, they didn’t fall in love. Tracy worked in the show for just one season and exited. However, since they were destined to be together, both met again in 1987 when they starred together in Bright Lights, Big City. That’s when they felt the spark and gave a thought about becoming a real-life couple. They quickly tied the know, and it’s over three decades that they have been together. But, they claim their love has grown deeper over the years.

The 59-year-old actor told People that “every day we have something we laugh about for a good two minutes.” “The kind of support she gives me, I feel like a husband, a father and a friend first, and then somewhere way down the line, I’m someone with Parkinson’s,” Fox added. For your information, in 1991, Michael J. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and disclosed his condition to the public in 1998.

On the other hand, Pam had wrapped up the hit TV series Mork & Mindy, where she starred opposite Robin Williams. The two met at a party, and as per Closer Weekly, Mark fit the criteria Pam had set for her life partner perfectly. He was strong, intelligent, sensitive, warm, independent, sensual, and had a great sense of humor. In short, he checked off all the boxes for Pam, and she was on the seventh sky.

Harmon is head over heels in love with his wife and never shies from expressing his feelings. The duo has primarily kept their lives private for all these years, but whenever Harmon gives an interview, he never forgets to praise his wife. He also never forgets to wear his wedding ring when he isn’t shooting because he says “I am proud of who I’m married to. I’m just so proud of her.”

Denzel and Pauletta Washington – 36 Years +

Denzel was declared by People magazine as the best-looking male of 1996. His female fans were looking forward to meeting this incredibly handsome man and win his heart, but to their dismay, the Training Day star was already married. Denzel met his wife Pauletta in 1977. They tied the knot six years later, in 1977. The couple had four kids, and a few decades later, they renewed their wedding vows in mesmerizing South Africa. We cannot disagree on the fact that theirs is among the most enduring unions in Hollywood. The couple celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary this year and revealed some details on how they met and decided about getting married.

They met on the sets of the TV movie Wilma, Denzel said when he appeared on Live with Kelly and Ryan. But that first meeting wasn’t that fruitful as the love at first sight thing never happened. “I met her then, but I didn’t meet her then…..I saw her then.” One year later, Denzel met Pauletta again at a party, and still, not ing happened. Then they met again at a play, and that’s when they hit it off as a couple.” I had talked at that party about going to see a play. I went to see the play, and at intermission, the lights came up, and she was sitting [there]. She said she just happened to go see the play,” Denzel explained. Denzel also shared that Pauletta rejected his proposal thrice. “She turned me down, she said no. And since it was three times, that means she turned me down twice.” But they did tie the knot in June 1983.

Steven & Maureen Van Zandt – 36 Years

Van Zandt and musician/E-Street Band member Steven Van Zandt have been married for 36 years. Steven became a household name when he played Silvio Dante on The Sopranos. He essayed the role throughout the time of the show’s first season. In its second season, Maureen joined the cast as his on-screen wife, Gabriella Dante. If you think they would have bonded more during rehearsals, it is incorrect as both never worked on their scene at home as she didn’t want to.

Steven is a versatile celebrity as he has shared the stage with none other than the iconic Bruce Springsteen and proved his mettle as an actor in hit shows like The Sopranos. With so many diverse career paths, it isn’t surprising that Steven managed to have a stable marital life for so long. They got married in 1983 and are often asked about the secret to their marital bliss. To this, Steven revealed that staying apart and giving each other space worked wonderfully for them to have a long marriage. “If you want to stay married, stay apart. We’ve been married for 37 years, but we’ve been together for about 10 of those. Truthfully, though, I think it’s important to give each other some space.” At the same time, it is vital to keep praising your wife, now and then, says Steven. He never forgets to mention his wife in all of his interviews.

Tom & Lois Bergeron – 37 Years

Tom Bergeron is well-known as America’s Funniest Home Videos’ host and also for hosting the hit show Dancing With the Stars. Tom met his wife Lois in 1980 and got married in 1982. Tom had anger management issues, which he says were largely controlled when Lois came into his life. She also played a part in his meditative transformation. The initial years of their married life weren’t too easy for Lois, but they remained focused on making their relationship worked, and it did. It’s been 37 years now, and they have two beautiful daughters.

It is surprising that Tom’s wife hasn’t ever joined him on a red carpet until now, nor are they ever seen out together. There aren’t many photos of the couple. Perhaps, Mrs. Bergeron is camera shy or doesn’t like being in the spotlight. Since we don’t know much about their private lives or have seen very few photos of them together, it is safe to say that this is their secret mantra. They keep their lives private to keep their relationship healthy. Tom and Lois live in Connecticut at their home while Tom travels to-and-from LA to shoot for his show. Though he rarely discusses his family in interviews, once he told Closer Weekly that “Lois and I know we’re better together than solo,” he feels grateful for being his daughters’ dad. “They make me proud pretty regularly,” Tom added.

They have proved to the world that you don’t need to put a ring and sign a few papers to stay in love. The couple met way back in 1966. At the time, Goldie was 21, and Kurt was 16. However, it wasn’t until 1983 when the two went on their first date. Both believe that the key to their “lasting relationship isn’t about marriage. It’s about compatibility and communication. And you both need to want it to work.”

Both being celebrated actors, they never let their work affect their relationship now in its fourth decade. Their affair officially started in 1983 when they were shooting for Swift Shift and have been in love ever since. They share a son Wyatt Russel, an actor, and three other kids from their previous marriages. Russell had a son Boston, and Goldie Hawn was the mother to Kate and Oliver Hudson before the two got into a relationship. They gave an interview to People magazine in which they revealed why they haven’t gotten married yet. Russell revealed that the certificate of marriage didn’t matter to them. “For people like us, the marriage certificate wasn’t going to create anything that otherwise we wouldn’t have.”

Ozzy & Sharon Osbourne – 37 years +

The Osbournes are undoubtedly the most controversial couple in Hollywood or at least one of them. But if we look at their relationship over the years from another perspective, it reflects that they both have been through every thick and thin together. And remained inseparable. That’s not an ordinary thing to achieve. Their marital life has been full of ups and downs. The rocker was already married to Thelma Riley until 1982, and in 1970 he met his future second wife Sharon for the first time. She was just 18 at the time and was assisting her father in managing the firm Black Sabbath. After the two started dating in 1979, Sharon had taken control of the management. Just after a couple of years of dating, the two tied the knot in 1982. They have two daughters Kelly and Aimee, and a son named Jack.

In 1989, their relationship’s strength was tested when Ozzy was arrested for attacking Sharon in a case of domestic violence. Sharon had hit the panic button, and the cops intervened. But the Talk co-host chose to remain married to Ozzy. Talking about that incident, Sharon stated in a 2020 documentary titled Biography: Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne that she was thankful to the judge for putting Ozzy in treatment. “Thank God the judge put him in treatment for six months. I had time to really think about what he should do.” “I told him, ‘I don’t want the money … but if you do this again, either I am going to kill you or you are going to kill me. And do you want that for the kids?” she added. Then the couple had to face a cheating scandal in 2016, which caused their brief separation, but they reconciled and renewed their vows.

Talking about the secret mantra behind a successful marriage, Barbara told People that love is the main thing that keeps a relationship thriving.  “I love the man, and that’s it… ‘love is all you need…”

Barbara Bach was Ringo Starr’s second wife. The 80-year-old music legend recently celebrated their Ruby wedding anniversary and shared a photo from their big day back in 1981. They can be seen standing by their stunning wedding cake with George Harrison and Paul McCartney and their wives Olivia and Linda. So, we can assume that Billy and Janice have been lucky. In an interview with Us, the couple revealed the secret of their happily ever after. Crystal said that they “laugh a lot,” and that’s the secret mantra that has kept them going for so long. Another thing she shared was that they always listen to what the other is saying. “We’ve grown together, we’ve parented together, we’ve grand-parented together. I’m lucky that I found the person when I was 18 [and] we just keep listening to each other.”

The 71-year-old actor told People Now that they tied the knot in 1970 and have two daughters, producer Lindsay, 41, and actor Jennifer, 45. They are married to Howie Miller and Michael Foley, respectively, and have two kids each. When Billy was asked how it felt to be a grandparent, he said, “[It’s] that you see yourself in your kids first, and now you see your kids and a little bit of yourself in the grandkids, and it’s just a great rejuvenation of your spirit.”

David McCallum & Katherine Carpenter – 52 Years

American actor David McCallum gained notoriety during the 60s when he appeared in The Man From U.N.C.L.E, a hugely popular TV show. Currently, he is famous for his role of Dr. Donald Mallard in NCIS. Ex-model Katherine Carpenter and David McCullum have been together for well over fifty years and are still going strong. Before they married, David dealt with heartbreak as his first wife, Jill Ireland, left him for a co-actor, Charles Bronson.

It was the year 1967 when he met Carpenter, the long-legged 21-year-old damsel. From that moment on, David has been devoted to this woman. David and Jill were married for 9 years, and when their marriage fell apart, David was devastated. He felt humiliated and heartbroken since Jill had preferred someone else over him. Jill and Bronson were seen together everywhere and had become the talk of the town while David was left to grieve on his own. Katherine helped him overcome the shock and come out of depression. “David was deeply hurt. He started to retreat into a shell. Then he met Katherine Carpenter. She’s made a new man of him. If she’s made him so happy and outgoing that he wants to defy convention to be with her, I say that’s all to the good,” one of their friends stated.
