Final Photographs Taken Just Before Tragedy Struck
Taking pictures and selfies is most likely everyone’s favorite and most popular activity. However, it is often difficult to foresee what happens after we say ‘Cheese’ because the result is completely unpredictable. For many people, the photographs were the last thing they remembered about their life. “Men at some times are masters of their fate,” but the images we’ll show you reveal that this isn’t always the case.
We’ve all seen photographs of aircraft crashes, sad deaths, accidents, and even murders that were taken after the event. Pre-tragic images have a certain gloomy quality to them. One moment, the subject(s) appear to be happy and carefree while concentrating on the work at hand and dead the next. Countless of such photographs were shot moments before a family embarked on a vacation, or groups starting on mountain excursions, or even stuntmen executing risky feats, who couldn’t live to view such photos.
Tiger’s Next Meal
Man and beast can never get along as well as they do in their respective species, and this particular incident is clear proof of that. Here you see Maqsood, a 20-year-old guy, who decided to climb over two of the tiger exhibit’s three obstacles protective fences in order to have a closer look at the tigers at the New Delhi Zoo. He fell 18 feet into the tiger’s kennel. When he collapsed, the tiger approached to investigate and what happened next shook everyone present there.
“The man who jumped is responsible for this entire incident. He has been a mental patient for four years,” stated Riyaz Ahmed Khan, the zoo’s spokesperson. Maqsood’s mental health difficulties were well-known among his family and acquaintances. Let’s leave what happened next to our imagination, but no matter how horrible it was, it took almost 2 hours for zookeepers to enter the tiger’s pen and recover what was remained of his body.
Evacuation Death Fall
On August 16, 2021, as the Taliban took the capital city of Kabul in Afghanistan, people were rushing to Kabul Airport to board the United States cargo planes to leave the country. While many Americans and foreigners are still stranded in Afghanistan, the local people were making a mad rush to leave the country in fear of Taliban retaliation. Many frantic people were so desperate they were seen hanging onto the cargo plane as it was taking off. All of them died. A seventeen year old soccer player, Zaki Anwari and his brother were two of the the many who fell to their deaths.
Without telling anyone in the house, he took his personal ID, and left to the airport. We are really upset that we’ve lost two. We’ve found the body of one of them, but the other one is still missing. We hope to find him dead or alive so it will console our family. We are worried, and we went from one hospital to another, but we didn’t get any information. Everyone is trying to run away. It is in fear of the Taliban, they are killing people.

The Last Walk
Two year old Kaiser, a K-9 German Shepard on his is last walk led by his handler to Court Street Animal Hospital to be put down. Kaiser to worked with the Plymouth Police Department and was one of the their most active personnel taking down numerous criminals. Kaiser sadly had severe kidney failure and was in pain.
In this photo, you see his fellow officers lined up and salute this brave German Shepard for his courage and contributions to the police department and community of Plymouth, Massachusetts on June 2013.
Robert Budd Dwyer
At his final news conference on January 22, 1987, Robert Budd Dwyer is shown here a few moments before killing himself on live television by blowing his brains out. This horrible tragedy occurred only minutes before he was to be legally removed from office and a day before he was to be sentenced. Budd, R. Dwyer believed he was a good man, and he didn’t want his reputation to be associated with a corrupt politician who was accused of committing a crime he didn’t do. Or was he? Is it true that he committed the act and then killed himself? He also didn’t want his family to lose his pension, so he killed himself “in office” so that his $1.28 million pensions could be collected after he died. A written note was later discovered, which was penned by Robert Dwyer himself. It read:
“I am going to die in office in an effort to ‘…see if the shame[-ful] facts, spread out in all their shame, will not burn through our civic shamelessness and set fire to American pride.’ Please tell my story on every radio and television station and in every newspaper and magazine in the U.S.. Please leave immediately if you have a weak stomach or mind since I don’t want to cause physical or mental distress. Joanne, Rob, DeeDee – I love you! Thank you for making my life so happy. Goodbye to you all on the count of 3. Please make sure that the sacrifice of my life is not in vain.
Elisa Lam’s Last Moments Before …
In 2013, a 21-year-old college student from Vancouver, Canada, checked into the Cecil Hotel in downtown Los Angeles and died one of the most strange and inexplicable deaths of the twenty-first century. She vanished on the day she was supposed to leave. Her death remains unexplained to this day. The water pressure in the hotel’s guestrooms had been low for nineteen days, and when it did flow, it tasted strange and had a rotten odor. The guests complained.
The decomposing body of Elisa Lam was discovered floating in one of the four hotel water tanks on February 19, 2013, by a hotel maintenance worker assigned to examine the water quality. Her corpse was discovered naked in the swimming tank, with her clothes and personal items floating alongside her. The huge unanswered question was how she got up to the water tank on the hotel’s roof, which was only accessible via a padlocked gate that only the hotel’s maintenance can access. It is believed that Elisa’s erratic behavior was due to her not taking her bi-polar and depression medications as unopened medication bottles were found in her hotel room.
Falling Off
This story is that of Keith Sapsford, a 14-year-old Australian boy who slipped onto the tarmac at Sydney Airport on February 22, 1970, and into the plane’s wheel-well compartment for a “free trip” to Japan. He had no idea that when the plane’s wheels retracted for lift-off, the wheel compartment would open, and he would plummet 200 feet to his death.
He took the mistakes that cost him his life because of his intense ambition to see the world. His father, Charles, foresaw his plans and cautioned him by telling him about a Spanish child who tried to hide in the plane’s undercarriage only to die. Keith, on the other hand, was sure that staying within the plane’s wheel-well would allow him to face the horrors that awaited him. However, he was unaware that the compartment would reopen when the plane’s wheels retracted. He then fell and died a terrible death.
Last Victim of a Serial Killer
Regina Kay Walters died when she was barely 14 years old. This photograph was shot in a ruined barn sometime in 1990, just minutes before she was brutally killed. The attacker/ murderer was Robert Rhoades, a notorious American serial killer, and rapist. During the 1970s and 1980s, he was one of the most brutal and ruthless serial murderers. His semi-truck, which he used to move up and down the roads in search of new victims, was the major crime scene.
Regina Walters was the last person Rhoades aka The Truck Stop Killer, killed. According to reports, Rhoades assassinated Lee right afterward and clung to Walters for as long as he could. The pictures Rhoades used of Walters were used to make this disclosure. Her hair looks to be much longer in several of the photos, and there are fresh and faint bruise marks. Reportedly, Rhoades had killed over 50 women in fifteen years.
The Final Photo
This image was taken on August 15, 1998, and it was to be the photographer’s last. The red vehicle in this photograph was the car bomb planted by the Real Irish Republican Army in Omagh, a tiny town in Northern Ireland, which murdered 29 innocent people and injured over 300 others who were unfortunate enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. The father and kid in this image were fortunate enough to live, but the photographer was tragically murdered.
The Omagh Bombing is regarded as the worst strike of the thirty-year-long civil war known as the Troubles in Northern Ireland, causing significant and catastrophic damage. A car laden with the 500-pound bomb was placed in the town’s market square in the early afternoon, as planned, in an area that is frequently packed with shoppers and people. A paper that defined the essential stages and methods for creating peace was released a few months after the Irish voters voted in favor of the Good Friday Agreement.
Last Act
Jojo Tsai, a pretty heartbroken 20 year-old from Shanghai, China took this selfie atop of a tall building and uploaded it to her Instagram account just minutes before throwing herself over the edge. As you can see, she is sitting on ledge, dangling her feet over the rails. Various social media postings hinted that a was a split from her boyfriend was behind it. Below was her last post on Instagram.
“I never thought that you would deceive me, but I still can’t stop loving you. After I’m dead, I will haunt you day and night. I will never be apart from you again.”

The Eruption of Mt. St. Helen
Only a few individuals in the world devote their lives to their careers and prioritize them. People nowadays put a lot of effort, money, and time into attending management seminars and training. Except for a minority, they are still unable to increase their job output. Robert Landsburg, for example, is still known for his photos of Mount St. Helens’ explosion, which were the last taken with his camera.
On May 18, 1980, Oregon photographer Robert Landsberg was in Washington state when he snapped this wall of ash from Mount St. Helens’ explosion. He immediately rewound the film, placed it back into its canister, placed the canister and camera back into his bag, and fled, knowing that this would be his final snapshot. He protected the equipment with his body from the pyroclastic flow that would finally kill him. His corpse was discovered seven days later, and scientists can research volcanic outbursts thanks to his efforts to save his pictures.
First Known Traces of Cannibalism
If you remember the TV series Lost, you will be able to relate to this ghastly event. That show was about a plane that crashes onto a deserted island. Believe it or not, that show was inspired by the events that led to this photo. In 1972, a group of boys was confronted with a choice that none of us would ever want to face: starve to death on a desolate island or devour their friends’ frozen dead bodies. They opted for the latter.
The passengers of Uruguayan Flight 571 were photographed on October 13, 1972, just before the jet crashed into the Andes. The plane carried 40 passengers and four crew members; 13 of the passengers were members of a rugby team, while the remainder were relatives and friends of the players. Of those who survived, 11 perished instantly when the plane collided with the mountainside. Approximately 72 days after the disaster, just 16 individuals were saved. Those who were eventually rescued survived by eating the bodies of their fellow passengers.
The Concorde
This is the only Concorde accident known to have occurred. On the morning of July 25, 2000, Air France’s Concorde Flight 4590 caught fire shortly after take-off. Ground witnesses saw a fire beneath the left-wing as soon as the pilot sped the plane down the runway. The pilot quickly guided the plane to the left, and the jet’s two left-side engines failed as it departed the runway.
The tragic supersonic plane caught fire and crashed into a hotel shortly after take-off. The plane couldn’t go over 200 feet, and the third left-side engine failed in a row barely 90 seconds after takeoff. The plane crashed into a restaurant and a small hotel in the Gonesse suburbs at this point. The remaining Concordes were instantly dropped as a result of this action. The airline did resume operation in November 2001, but it couldn’t continue its service for long and underwent a permanent shut down after two years.
MH17
A calamity in the family. The Hally family took the shot above just after boarding the plane. Unfortunately, the plane was Malaysia Airlines MH17, which was shot down over eastern Ukraine. No one survived, and all 298 passengers and crew members died. The majority of the passengers on the flight were Netherlands nationals.
According to a Dutch investigation, the plane was shot down by a Russian-made missile rather than an internal problem. Three other foreign passenger planes were also flying in the same radar control sector as the Malaysian flight. At 13:26, the aircraft vanished totally from radar screens. It was Malaysia Airlines’ second tragedy in 2014, following the disappearance of Flight 370 on March 8.
Desperate Attempts
Three drunk sand scow workers set off in a tiny boat on the upper Niagara River on the evening of July 18, 1853. The group became caught in a powerful, merciless current, and all of Avery’s friends died as a result. Avery clung to a log for 18 hours before a rescue boat found him. Unfortunately, tragedy struck once more when the rescue boat that was supposed to save him was hit by another powerful current. Avery was thrown back into the river, but his luck ran out this time, and he drowned.
Attempts to save him are described in detail in the poem. On July 19, 1853, at 6 p.m., Avery was washed over the falls. Avery is shown here hanging on to a log while boating with his buddies on the Niagara River.
Climbing the Mt. Everest
Mallory and Irvine set out on a difficult and strenuous adventure in 1924 to become the first men to climb Mount Everest. They were preparing to depart their base camp when the shot was taken. They dropped off the radar after that. They were never heard from again.
They would have been the first to climb Mt. Everest if they had succeeded. A support climber, who was well below them, was the last person to see them. Their last sighting occurred on June 8, 1942, according to reports. It happened when an unexpected breach in the clouds enveloped Mount Everest’s North East Summit ridge. After this brief sight, the duo was never seen alive by anybody else. Rescuers discovered Irvine’s diary after they vanished. The journal was last updated on June 6, 1924. The entry was as follows: “My face is perfect agony. Have prepared 2 oxygen apparatus for our start tomorrow morning.”
Terminal Test Run
This is the final shot of St. Louis Mayor William Dee Becker, who was on a military test flight with other politicians. The left-wing of the glider shattered as it lifted off and soared at 2,000 feet. All of the politicians and crew members on board, including William Dee Becker, died when the military jet crashed. The incident occurred in 1943. Mayor William Robertson was an aviation visionary and the co-founder of the Lambert Field facility, which produced World War II gliders. Becker was an outspoken advocate for the airport.
Robertson and Becker were among many dignitaries on a demo trip at Lambert on that tragic day, August 1, 1943. The mayor had been asked whether he was anxious during a news conference the day before, to which Becker responded:
Last Photo of the Grizzly Man
This is the last known photo of Timothy Treadwell, aka the Grizzly Man, and his girlfriend Amie Huguenard. The duo was in the Katmai National Park and Reserve, Alaska, where they were mutilated to death and were eaten by a hungry, aggressive bear. The old bear was reportedly cast out of his clan. The incident occurred on October 5, 2003. It is said that Amie didn’t want to join Treadwell on this expedition and only came along on the condition that this would be her final trip with him as she felt unsafe with the grizzlies. What’s even more tragic was that on this day he was suppose to fly back to Los Angeles but his ticket had expired. He and Amie returned to the campsite where they both got eaten alive.
Treadwell was a self-proclaimed ecologist and biologist. He had spent thirteen summers among Alaskan bears before that fatal attack. Experts claim this lone bear wasn’t one of the animals Treadwell had been observing. This bear was kicked out of his sleuth and was hence, isolated and hungry. Until his last breath, Treadwell believed that he could eliminate the gap existing between the man and the beast.”Most times I’m a kind warrior out here… No one ever friggin’ knew that there are times when my life is on the precipice of death and that these bears can bite, they can kill, and if I am weak, I go down. I love them with all my heart, I will protect them, I will die for them. But I will not die at their claws and paws…. That was a challenge, and you have to remain cool in the challenge, in the moment. If you don’t, you’re They can kill. They can bite. They can decapitate,”
Aggressive Grizzly Kills Trainer
Here’s another disturbing event that resulted in the death of the trainer. The photograph you see here is the last known photo of Stephen Miller. The 39-year old trainer was attacked by a grizzly bear in April 2008 and succumbed to his injuries within 25 minutes. Rocky was the bear that attacked Miller. This brown bear was known as an Obedient one. However, the bear stunned everyone by gruesomely attacking his trainer, Miller. The incident occurred in California.
Rocky was a famous bear and had appeared in many films, including several documentaries for National Geographic and Discovery Channel. The most recent one of its appearances was in Will Ferrell’s Semi-Pro. Rocky was dubbed the most well-trained bear in the entertainment industry, which is why people present around at the time of this ghastly attack couldn’t believe this bear could get so wild. Ironically, Miller was the only victim of this bear, and this was Rocky’s first and only aggressive behavioral display.
The Ill-Fated RMS Titanic
The sinking of the mighty Titanic is regarded as one of maritime history’s greatest disasters. The event, although it took place over a few hours, the tragedy continues to captivate our imagination even after decades. What added more drama to the catastrophic event was that the vessel was dubbed Unsinkable, and it turned out to be the opposite.
The tragic event occurred on April 14, 1912, when the luxury vessel struck an iceberg and sank almost immediately. The photo you see here was taken when the ship pulled away from Queenstown and is the last known memory of the RMS Titanic. RMS is an abbreviation for Royal Mail Ship used for vessels that are under contract to the British Royal Mail for carrying royal mail. This designation dates back to 1840, and the first such mail-carrying contract was ordered in 1850. This photo was taken by Francis Browne, an Irish Jesuit priest.
Fatal Stunt At Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls at the Niagara River nearby the Canadian Niagara Power Plant remains an exciting and enticing location for tourists worldwide. It’s like a haven for adventure lovers. Every year local and international tourists visit Niagara Falls just to be labeled as the ones who went there and came out unharmed. Unfortunately, some aren’t able to make such claims, and the 39-year-old Robert Overacker is one such individual.
In 1995, Overacker decided to perform a daring stunt and launched himself into the river’s upstream. When he reached the brink of the fall, Overacker ignited a rocket to deploy a parachute, as he had planned. But, it fell away from his reach and shocked everyone around. In fact, Overacker himself didn’t know that the parachute wasn’t tied to his body. It was later revealed that Robert didn’t pack the parachute before the stunt. This slight error turned out to be fatal for the stuntman. What added more pain to this tragic incident was the fact that Robert was performing this stunt to raise awareness for the homeless. He suffered serious injuries and died one hour later.
The 9/11 Twin Tower Tragedy
For most New Yorkers, September 9, 2001, started as just any other day, but by the time it ended, their world had turned upside down. This was the day when the ultimate tragedy of recent times, the 9/11 incident, occurred. That day people saw how the skies turned gray from their regular blue shade, and the environment got filled with heavy smoke, and a huge mass of smoldering metal lay on the ground where once the pride of New York, the Twin Towers were located.
It has been over two decades since 9/11, but the world is still dealing with its aftermath. Reportedly, a terrorist organization Al-Qaeda hijacked four airplanes and smashed them into the thick walls of the Twin Towers, causing them to fall to the ground and the death of nearly 3,000 innocent people. This photo shows you the moment when the United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into the World Trade Center’s South Tower.
Deadly Bear Attack
This is yet another tragedy that happened due to a beast attacking a man. This time, the victim was Darsh Patel, a 22-year-old student from New Jersey. Patel was enjoying his time with friends, and the group was hiking in West Milford woods. Things turned ugly when the friends met the bear as the animal started chasing them. The group fled into the words. The bear was just 15ft away from them, so they all ran in different, random directions.
Later, Patel’s friends told investigators that he climbed a rock formation while the bear was quite closely pursuing him. Patel desperately told his friends to keep running. This photograph was captured on Patel’s mobile phone, and moments later, the bear noticed them and started the deadly chase. Patel reportedly clicked five photos of the bear, and that’s why the animal took notice of them and shuffled towards the group. The moral of the story- not everything is worth clicking.
When the Victim Captured His Killer
A Filipino politician, Reynaldo Dagsa, accidentally clicked the photo of the person who was about to assassinate him. The incident happened when the late politician was capturing the photos of his young family, which included his wife, mother-in-law, and child. It was New Year’s night back in 2011. Dana was fatally shot in the head by the person you see in this picture.
This ghastly act was performed by a gang member as an act of revenge for being shot in a shoot-out a few months back. Dana was involved in that event. This photograph greatly helped the investigators capture the killer as the gunman can be clearly seen pointing a handgun at Reynaldo. Though his face is slightly obscured by the gun, still, the investigators could identify the culprit. Ironically, this incident took place outside Dagsa’s house, where the car was parked. The killer was arrested soon along with his accomplice, and justice was served.
Tragedy Struck Officer
A K-9 officer, Keith Larson, was attacked and put down by a dog, and this incident still haunts the department. This police dog was preparing the K9 Nico and had to respond to a call. The photo was taken at Plymouth, Massachusetts. The K-9 and Larson were expected to reach a scene of the crime at about 9:20 a.m., where the suspect had fled the scene. The officer was assigned to the K-9 in 2017 and was a veteran of the Plymouth Police Department.
This photo may be planned, but what happened next wasn’t planned at all. Reportedly, Larson’s dog latched onto him. It is said that the dog Nico had bit Larson sometime back in April, but both were later recertified for service by the K-9 Academy’s Sheriff’s Department. When the dog attacked Larson, the officer desperately tried to disengage the animal and had no other choice but to discharge his service weapon. Three gunshots were fired, claimed a nearby worker Lori Medeiros.
The Fatal Flip
this incident shook every stunt performer in the world and made them realize the fact that it is a delicate and precision-based art that can go wrong at any time if the performer isn’t well-prepared. The stuntmen usually dangle between life and death while performing daredevil stunts, and it can go either way. Such was the case with Pavel Kashin, a Russian free runner who decided to land a backflip at the rooftop of a sixteen-story building.
The performer did achieve this feat but lost his balance later and fell from the tall building’s ledge. He died on the spot. The photo you see here was taken just seconds before the performer lost his balance. The St. Petersburg native was a famous parkour artist in Russia back in 2013. This act was filmed by Kashin’s friend. Parkour is a French term that means Route. It was developed as obstacle training for the military.
Stabbing of an Officer
This photo is of Steven Green, a police officer from Mobile, Alabama and criminal who would stab Green shortly just minutes after this photograph was taken. This man you see on the right was handcuffed when this photo was taken, and moments later, he managed to attack Green in the jail. The killer was arrested by an off-duty officer earlier that day on the grounds of attempted robbery. Reportedly, the arrestee was trying to rob a dollar store. He approached the checkout counter, demanded money, and then set the counter on fire after spraying lighter fluid.
This entire incident was witnessed by an off-duty officer who was shopping in the store. He quickly took control of the situation and arrested the robber. Later he was transported to the county jail, and officer Steven Green was handed over the job. While being transported to jail, the accused retrieved a knife by taking one hand out of his handcuffs and attacked the officer in the neck. The 3-inch knife was hidden in a cellphone armband the accused had tied around his upper arm. The officer died as the stabbing severed an artery. The murderer escaped but was later killed in an encounter.
The Mass Grave
This photo may seem normal to many, but its backstory is anything but normal. It is the photo of Chechen villagers after they finished digging, and sometime later, they were buried in the same place. This incident took place back in 2002 in Chechenia when thousands disappeared suddenly when the second Russian war started in the late 20th century.
Between the two wars fought between Russia and Chechen rebels, the place became highly unsafe for foreigners and Russians as countless people were kidnapped, and no one ever heard about them ever again. The kidnappings made headlines, but none was arrested, and all the blame was put on armed Chechens and Russian forces. Later, these mass graves were discovered containing hundreds of dead bodies. By 2008, around 57 such mass graves were located in Chechnya. The largest mass grave out of them was discovered in Grozny as it contained close to 800 bodies from the first Chechen war in 1995.
First Ebola Victims
This photo will go down in history as the first-ever reported Ebola case, which took place in 1976. The person you see standing near the victim is nurse Mayinga N’Seka. A few days later, N’Seka also got the symptoms of the Ebola virus and died. Reportedly, this was the index case in 1976 when the Ebola outbreak had reached its peak in what is today the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Although there has been extensive research conducted on the Ebola virus, N’Seka still is the only known case of airborne Ebola infection. When N’Seka was diagnosed with Ebola, she was admitted to Kinshasa Ngaliema hospital. Strangely, none of the people who came into contact with N’Seka during this time contracted the virus from her. Mayniga N’Seka died on October 20, 1976. The Ebola virus variant that infected the nurse was named Zaïre virus strain Mayinga. It was later changed to Mayinga; EBOV/May.
Worst Nightclub Fire
This photograph was captured on February 20, 2003, at The Station nightclub in Rhode Island. You may find this photo normal but what makes it haunting for many is what followed suit. Tragedy struck the club after it caught fire, and nearly 100 people got perished. According to investigative reports, the fire was caught by the negligence of the Great White tour manager. A minor error resulted in setting the entire club ablaze, inflicting great misery on those who were inside the club.
The fire erupted because pyrotechnics were set off by that evening’s headlining band’s tour manager, which ignited the flammable acoustic foam installed in the stage’s surrounding walls and ceilings. Within minutes the fie reached flashover; resultantly, all combustible materials caught fire. The whole club was engulfed in fire within five and a half minutes. This is regarded as the 4th deadliest nightclub fire in the history of the USA and the 2nd deadliest in New England.
Innocent 911 Victim
There’s no doubt that 9/11 was a tragic event. On September 11, 2001, the Islamic Extremist group Al Qaeda’s members launched four coordinated attacks after hijacking commercial US airplanes. As a result, the iconic Twin Towers fell to the ground, the Pentagon sustained considerable damages, and around 3000 people lost their lives. One of them was Joe Kelly, whom you see in this photo. This photo of Kelly was taken just one day before when he was enjoying a Yankee’s game with his family.
Tragedy struck the Kelly family the next day when the 9/11 incident occurred, and Joseph Kelly found himself one of the 2,996 people who died when the two hijacked airplanes crashed into the World Trade Center. According to Kelly’s family members, he was a kind and caring individual who never thought twice before helping others, whether they were his friends, relatives, or complete strangers. Everyone agreed that Kelly had a big heart, and his loss is irreparable even to this day.
Damaged Parachute
You can see the smile on the face of Cadet Stephen Hilder, but you will feel sad after knowing what happened to this young cadet just moments later. It seems as if someone damaged Hilder’s parachute, but investigation revealed that he damaged both of his parachutes himself before jumping off the airplane. It is still a mystery why Stephen did that to him, knowing very well that this will result in his death. The smile will appear deadly to you now, isn’t it?
According to the statement from a fellow cadet David Mason, he was holding Hilder’s hand while the skydivers leaped from the aircraft to perform 19 display formations. The incident occurred in North Lincolnshire’s Hibaldstow airfield. The three men were tasked to display a series of formations after jumping off 13,000 ft to reach 4,000 ft. They had a shaky start but were able to give a stellar performance. It was a unique incident in British crime history, and reports revealed that both the canopies were tampered with by an expert. TheThe investigators are still indecisive about whether this incident was suicide or murder.
Unlucky Team
In this shot, the 1961 US figure skating team is preparing to board the plane that will transport them to Brussels for the World Figure Skating Championships. The plane, unfortunately, crashed. Seventy-three individuals were killed, including the whole squad.
The tragic loss of the American team’s lives left an instant gap that could not be filled, and the tournament was canceled. The organizers first stated that the event would take place. However, the International Skating Union (ISU) subsequently established a vote to determine the event’s future. The decision was in favor of canceling the event, demonstrating respect and appreciation for the US team. Later on, a memorial fund was established to help American skaters. Prague has been chosen to host the tournament the following year.
Japan Airlines Flight 123
Another catastrophe has occurred. The shot was taken about a half-hour before Japan Airlines Flight 123 crashed, killing all 509 passengers and crew members on board. As the oxygen masks are seen being deployed, the picture has undertones of terror and fright. Only four individuals on board survived the terrifying incident. However, one cannot imagine the pain they went through!
All of the passengers died. The plane carried Ryoichi Ogawa’s entire family. He declined his parents’ invitation to join them on a family excursion to Tokyo’s Disneyland. Otherwise, he would have perished along with the rest of the passengers onboard the tragic aircraft. The collision killed Ogawa’s parents and younger sister. Police walked up to him with his family’s personal things, including a camera. From the plane’s wreckage, the items were recovered and handed over to the last remaining member of the family. This incident is extremely tragic and can give shudders to anyone.
The Challenger
In this picture, some astronauts can be seen smiling, oblivious to the fact that they are only minutes away from dying. Shortly after, the entire crew of the Space Shuttle Challenger lost their lives when one of the shuttle’s engines failed. The shuttle was NASA’s second space vehicle to be sent into the cosmos and had already completed over 62 days in Space, according to a report from CBS.
The shuttle was taking the first teacher, Christa McAuliffe, into space, and there was a large media presence because it was a monumental day in NASA’s history. While in orbit, McAuliffe was supposed to teach. McAuliffe and the rest of the crew, however, never made it. The space shuttle was NASA’s second to launch into space. It staged the first spacewalk of the space shuttle program in 1983 and launched the first black astronauts and the first American woman into space.
Columbine Hero
The photo above was taken from a Columbine High School, Columbine, Jefferson Country, camera. On April 20, 1999. William “Dave” Sanders, a teacher at the school, is the man in the photo, and he warned the students about the school shooting that day. Sanders was hailed as a hero for saving hundreds of his students from mass killers while losing his own life.
His daughter, Angela, paid homage to him during his burial with the following words: “What you did in that school on Tuesday was an amazing act of heroism. Even after you were hurt, you continued to be the brave, selfless man we all know you are.” He helped save the lives of over 100 kids during the massacre before being shot and killed by Eric Harris, who died a few hours later. His final words were about his family, demonstrating how much he loved them. “Tell my family I love them,” Sander said.
